MSL announced today the arrival of Shreya Mukherjee as its new Chief Strategy Officer. Mukherjee will lead the agency’s strategic offering in influence to support its world class portfolio of brands and continued innovation in the communications industry.
With 20 years of experience, Mukherjee has worked as a trend forecaster with Fortune 100 clients; led global research, branding and innovation for cross-category brands; and helped to incubate and deliver new business models and practices for start-ups including her own social impact initiative that delivers multi-modal therapy to anyone who has undergone trauma. Her extensive client partnerships include PNC Bank, Newman’s Own, Pepsico, The Hershey Company, Pfizer, Reebok, Starbucks, General Mills, GlaxoSmithKline, AARP and Citigroup to name a few.
“Shreya is a multi-dimensional strategist with deep expertise and a love of learning and growing, but it wasn’t just her experience and accomplishments that drew me to her for this role, it was also her unbounded empathy and passion for meaningful impact,” said MSL U.S. CEO, Diana Littman. “Simply put, she is a force and will be a game changer for MSL, our clients and the industry.”
Most recently Mukherjee held the role of Group Planning Director at Deutsch in NY where she led strategy for the agency’s largest client; and drove integration across Deutsch’s social, digital, data strategy and media teams while focusing on pushing new frameworks for brand purpose and impact. Prior to Deutsch, Mukherjee has worked at Publicis New York, NowWhat, Hall & Partners and Iconoculture. She started her career in media at The Times of India Group Delhi and Sony Music Mumbai. She holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Delhi, a Masters in Creative and Media Enterprises from the University of Warwick, a Masters in Strategic Communication from the University of Minnesota and has completed post graduate programs at Cornell University and University of Pennsylvania.
“I am particularly thrilled to join MSL especially during a time where the agency is experiencing spectacular momentum. With the seismic shift we are seeing in culture, I believe PR is quite simply primed to partner with brands, business and leaders in a way that is not just unique but deeply impactful,” said Mukherjee. “Combine that with MSL’s core focus, specialized teams and the sophisticated tools the agency has been building around influence and impact -- and my work is that more exciting in terms of what we can achieve and deliver.”
Mukherjee will be based in New York and report to MSL U.S. CEO Diana Littman. Mukherjee replaces Alina Diaz in the role of Chief Strategy Officer with Diaz moving to oversee the agency’s renowned Consumer practice full time, leveraging her expertise in brand building, culture driving and inclusive consumer marketing. Nicole Scull continues in her role of Managing Director, Procter & Gamble, globally and in the U.S.
